    Hear Me!

Please remove your ear buds......take off your stocking cap

Put your hair in a pony tail...I wanna tell you where I’m at

    Remember when we were sweethearts

    Things just aren’t the same

    Upon further reflection

You don’t come when I call your name so

Hear Me! Sayin’ I love you baby!

Hear Me! Callin’ you out to play!

Hear Me! Cuz if you don’t hear me,

You won’t believe I want you to stay,so

Hear Me! Down at the intersection

Hear Me! Through all the noise in town

Hear Me! Cuz if you don’t hear me,

You won’t believe I want you around

    You gotta hear me!

I will kiss you in the rain

Make you laugh and make your bed

    Hook your old computer

    Up to the internet.......

Maybe you can’t hear me.....with all that stuff in your head

Economics, war and crime....on the front of The New York Times but

Hear Me! Sayin’ I love you baby!

Hear Me! Callin’ you out to play!

Hear Me! Cuz if you don’t hear me,

You won’t believe I want you to stay,so

Hear Me! When you are bungee jumpin’

Hear Me! Get off your cell phone then

Hear Me! Cuz if you can hear me,

Then you will know I want you again

Hear Me! Over the sounds of silence

Hear Me! Over the din of life

Hear Me! cheerin’ you on cuz you still belong with me tonight

    You gotta hear me!

    In My Daddy's Car

I didn’t know how to drive but i was learnin’, down by Franklin High

My father closed his eyes when I was turnin’, he was terrified

But we would turn the AM on, and sing the Duke of Earl

I was only seventeen, but I felt like the King of the World

In my Daddy’s car, In my Daddy’s car

In my Daddy’s car, In my Daddy’s car

I drove over to Sarah’s house, every chance I got

She was only a sophomore, but she was hot

Sometimes I’d sneak out at night, and stay out til the dawn

But when he left for work he never said

    “Why’s the engine warm?”

    Chorus

    Solo,

    Bridge

Weekends were for changin’ oil, spark plugs and tires

We’d put on the football game, and cuss at the umpires

My father took a drive last year to the country in the sky

And left me this ol’ Pontiac, from 1965

Now as my kids are askin’, if they can learn to drive

Well The Duke of Earl is lookin’ down

    While we harmonize.....

    chorus, out

    Smiley Emoticon

    (Chorus)

I feel like a smiley emoticon, when you touch my hand

I feel like a smiley emoticon, when you call me your man

I feel like a smiley emoticon, every time you grin

Haven’t felt like a frowning emoticon, since you came in

    (Verse)

You were just in time, I was at a loss

That last divorce, nearly killed me off

You showed me how it can be, to be loved without fail

And I learned how to type again, through all that email

    (Chorus)

I feel like a smiley emoticon, when you wear that blouse

I feel like a smiley emoticon, when you’re in da house

I feel like a smiley emoticon, let me be clear

Haven’t felt like a frowning emoticon, for over 10 years

    (Solo)

    (Verse)

    I admit that I can be...an introvert

Well, maybe I’m not through, with my mother work

I never thought I could love again, I’m not that kinda cat,

But you love me no matter what, and now that I’m convinced of that...

    (Chorus)

I feel like a smiley emoticon, every time you’re near

I feel like a smiley emoticon, when you hand me a beer

I feel like a smiley emoticon, now that you’re my wife

And I’ll feel like a smiley emoticon, for the rest of my life

    The Queen of Hollywood High

    Saturday night

    Wheels along the boulevard

    You're lookin' alright

'Cause love don't come too hard

To the queen of Hollywood High

And the boys are on the move

    They're hustlin' the boulevard

    She knows she couldn't lose

Still, she never gets that far

    The queen of Hollywood High

    Hollywood High, yeah

    The queen of Hollywood High

The angels fly in the northern sky

Only for the queen of Hollywood High

The angels fly in the northern sky

Only for the queen of Hollywood High

    There are spirits taking flight

    And wings across the boulevard

    They're dancing in the night

And they're callin' her across the yard

    The queen of Hollywood High

    Hollywood High, yeah

    The queen of Hollywood High

    Saturday night

    Wheels along the boulevard

    You're lookin' alright

'Cause love don't come that hard

To the queen of Hollywood High

    Hollywood High, yeah

To the queen of Hollywood High

The angels fly in the northern sky

Only for the queen of Hollywood High

The angels fly in the northern sky

Only for the queen of Hollywood High

The angels fly in the northern sky

Only for the queen of Hollywood High

The angels fly in the northern sky

Only for the queen of Hollywood High

    On a Saturday night

With the queen of Hollywood High

    Boys are takin' flight

Of the queen of Hollywood High, yeah

And they're dancing in the night

    With the queen of Hollywood

Oh, she's the queen of Hollywood, yeah

She's the queen of Hollywood High, yeah

    Hollywood High

She's the queen of Hollywood High

    When I Come Home

It’s a cold and crazy winter.......It was a cold and crazy night

And when the wind swept down the mountain

That’s when I held you tight

    And when I said “I love you”...that’s what I meant t’say

But now the ship I came here on is sailing away

Well I wish I had a duffel.........to take my love along

So we could share our passion, to some Richard Thompson song

But I will call you every evenin’, while I’m lying in my berth

And you will hear me on the wavelength

    When my cell phone works

    Solo

    Bridge

There’s danger in the ocean, the rocks and ice and sea

But someone’s got to land the crab, for the Aristocracy

So when sunlight touches down.....i will have to say good-bye

And I know you’re gonna crumble, Yes I know you’re gonna cry

But when days turn into weeks, won’t you bake some berry scones

For I will need more sweetness,

    When I come home

    A Song Named You

there are songs for the thrown aside

    and for the broken hearted

there are songs 'bout texas and taxes and rock and 'roll's departed

there are songs for roses and songs for bein' true

you made me coffee and you said you'd be my wife

    you carry half the load

    you are th' bomb

you give it all you've got and

you are the title of this song

there are songs for yankees and there are songs for my teams

there are songs for whiskey and moonbeams

there are songs for wind and rain,  and for the morning dew

but this is a song named you

there are songs for cars and schools, and songs for when you're blue

    My New Truck

There's a key in my pocket

There's a road out my door

There's a rig in, my driveway

    Much bigger than

    The one I had before

There no Pepsi,  in the change hole

For my quarters to get stuck

There's no French fries on the

    The dashboard

    Of my new truck

    I've got diesel, fired horses

But they still do, pack a punch

    I got a mini, fridgerator

For when I take my lunch

All my friends are green with envy

When they see all this stuff

There's a version of home depot

    On my new truck

    My woman won't drive it!

    Not that "Monstermobile"

But that's okay with me anyway

I'd rather be behind the wheel

So I take her, out to dinner

    To a fancy new cafe

When she orders steak and lobster

    I throw my cares away

No it isn't,  bout the money

    What's a paltry hundred bucks

When I think of what I paid for

    My new truck

    I'll be workin', til I'm 80,

    In my new truck

    Big TV

When Oprah’s on, or Dr. Phil, I try to be polite

And just because it hurts you so, I don’t turn on the fights

But when I'm cruisin' Costco, dot com-I can dream

What you don't need for girly shows...is a larger screen

    (chorus)

I want a big tv!, surround sound and a real loud bass

Peyton Manning in my face, I want a big tv!

    (Solo)

    (Bridge)

Well need to move that ol' antique  hutch

That ol' table you love so much

That's what I am talkin' about

I got a nice wall all picked out

So now you know, jus’ what I think, regardin’ this ordeal

I know you’ve asked, for 20 years, to tell you how I feel

Fire up the microwave, I bought a case of popcorn babe

When there’s a movie on 22, I’ll be curling up with you....

    (Chorus 2)

    (Last chorus)

    I want a big TV

A flat panel in a box

    T'watch the NFL on FOX

    I want a big one,

    A 50 inch one,

    I want a big TV!!!

alternate name for Peyton Manning in chorus 2...Venus Williams

    No Tool for That

I need a half inch router and a three-ton jack

I need a rear tine tiller and a wet dry vac

I want a gas line trimmer for the locoweed

I need a cordless sander with a warrantee but I..

    Don't need this broken heart

    That only time will mend

    I can …fix almost anything

But when love turns its back

They don't make a tool for that

I need a dust collector and a laser stand

I need a broadcast spreader for the nitrogen

I want a biscuit cutter to repair the porch

I need a nail compressor and a propane torch but I

    Don’ need this broken heart

    Go There

Living in a trailer by the railroad track, Burlington Northern line

Tugboat on the water and it’s blowin’ it’s stack

Tryin’ t’show me some kinda sign

I can hear a freight train to the heartland

I can see a river to the open sea

I could ride a rowboat to the ocean

Or a boxcar to the past

I know ....you would go there with me!

Livin’ by our wits and with the help of some friends

Grace of the Lord up above

Some call it quits when the going’ gets tough

Jump the track when push comes to shove

I can hear a freight train to the heartland

I can see a river to the open sea

I could ride a rowboat to the ocean

Or a boxcar to the past

I know ....you would go there with me!

    Solo

    Bridge

Wandering blind in this crazy old world

Maybe you’ve got something to give

    It’s not a house....it’s an opening door

When you find out where you live

I can hear a freight train to the heartland

I can feel a  river to the open sea

I could ride a rowboat to the ocean

Or a boxcar to the past

I know ....you would go there with me!

    Just to See Her Face

I feel my brain slowing down

I feel my heart skipping beats

I know my days are numbered

    I've stopped eating sweets

But when I look at her

    Just before she wakes

I know I need to live

    Just t'see her face

I feel my back going out

I guess I'm at that stage

I try to dress the part

    Oh and act my age!

But when I look at her

    Growing old with grace

I know I want to live

    Jus t'see her face

And when I finally roll outa bed

    To take my daily pills

I see the girl inside her start to rise

    And blink her eyes

Why Didn't I Think of That?

He sends her roses and lines he composes
    things a lady loves.
Well he's there to hold her
    when she needs a shoulder
    if life gets too rough
    Oh now that she's left
    I keep kicking myself whenever
    I start thinking back
    He says he needs her,
    tells her he loves her,
why didn't i think of that?

    When she gets down
    Well he's always around her,
    he makes her smile again.
    He mends her heartaches,
    remembers her birthday,
and tries to be a friend.
    Now that she's gone
I know what I did wrong,
it's all so simple in fact.
Well he says he wants her,
    can't live without her,
why didn't I think of that?

    (Chorus)
    Ooh I've been watching
    every move that he makes
    ooh I've been thinking,
it could have been different somehow
If I'd know what I know now.

    He sings her love songs
and tells her his love's strong
    things she needs to know
    He tries to please her,
    and calls for no reason,
    just to say hello
    He says he loves her
    and he'll never leave her
and I never will get her back
    I did my best,
    thought of everything eles,
why didn't I think of that?

    (chorus)
    ooh i've been watching
    every move that he makes
    ooh I've been thinking,
it could have been different somehow
If i'd know what I know now.

    He sends her roses

Our dogs they need a groomin’, cuz they’re a special kinda dog

And I need a new computer, for keepin’ up my blog

There’s shirts and socks and hats t’buy, and charcoal for the grill

And if that doesn’t break the bank, well then the burger prob’ly will!

    Chorus

    Bridge

So folks, sign on and navigate, and don’t be cheap or shy

Find my songs on iTunes, and Click on BUY!

There’s water bills and l’ectric bills, and gas is gonna climb

There’s a Starbucks on the corner, where I  spend a lot of time

There’s a website and guitar strings, there’s CD blanks and picks

But all these things could be resolved with a modicum of clicks

    Last Chorus

Oh life would be so simple, life would be so fine

Life would be much better, with a better bottom line!

I’d send my kids to college, and I’d reek with confidence,

If I could sell a thousand songs on iTunes every month!

I’d dine on brie and oysters, and I’d take my wife t’lunch

If I could sell a thousand songs on iTunes every month

    Arch Enemy

These sandals are shit!! ... No shit!!

Pardon the expression, but I’m a little bit pissed

I don’ think I can wander...another inch further

I can’t handle the pain....and my feet look like burger

    Arch Enemy.....Is it over reaction?

Or some masochistic, fetishistic fatal attraction?

    I can’t take another step....where did I go wrong?

They looked so good in the shoe store....when I first put them on

God damn these loafers!! Pennies and all!!!

Pardon my cussin’...But I might have to crawl

I can’t make it to the corner...it’s like bare feet on rocks

Maybe for the sake of comfort...I shoulda wore socks

    Chorus

    Solo

    Bridge

    I tend t’be.....a fashion consumer

You may ask......why do I care?

I don’ wanna be.... that guy on TV

Chosen for “What Not To Wear”

    Verse 3

But these sneakers suck!....hear that suckin’ sound?

That’s the sound of me...fallin’ to the ground

Look at the soles of these things! They need an overhaul

If it wasn’t for bad soles, they wouldn’t have no soles at all!

    Arch Enemy....is it over reaction?

Or some masochistic, fetishistic fatal attraction?

I can’t take another step....on this shopping spree

Most shoes give my feet the blues

    Like an Arch Enemy

NOTES
After his song "If Oprah Was President" was used behind a CNN story about Oprah in 2007, Ric Seaberg went to work writing songs to complete his new CD, "A Thousand Songs", which includes, among other typically interesting and sometimes humorous Seaberg offerings, "The Lone Ranger Song", featuring Ric singing one of his first efforts at the age of 3. "A Thousand Songs" is undoubtedly Seaberg's finest batch of songs, and includes the surefire hit "Hear Me!", destined to be Ric's most played song since his masterpiece "We Talk About Cars". Hundreds of podcasters have enjoyed playing Ric's songs on their podcasts, and we predict these new songs will be favourites on the podcast circuit, as well as being added to shuffle rotations all over the world, generating proceeds which will of course inch their way into the Seaberg coffers......... as Ric himself suggests in the song, "A Thousand Songs",
