Don't Cry For Me When I'm Gone
(Ric Seaberg)

My wife Marie is not fond of this song, since the singer refers to his own demise, and the singer is me. I dunno, when you get up here, around 60, you think of this shit. And if you are a songwriter, you write it. Sorry honey. But I'm callin' bs on the notion that I am somehow predicting or channeling my own deadness. It's a touchy subject, true. Actually, I am hoping that this song might speak for others who want a groovy and uplifting tune to play when honoring a departed loved one.
Don’t Cry For Me When I’m Gone
Copyright Ric Seaberg 2009
You can cry when your children are all grown
You can cry when you land on your backbone
You can cry when u lose your iPhone
But don’ cry for me when I’m gone
You can cry when your work is unnerving
You can cry when your boyfiend is flirting
You can cry when your contacts are hurting
But don’ cry for me when I’m gone
No don't cry.......I had a good time.....life was truly great
My advice ......watch the sunrise, and don't stay up too late
Solo
So don't cry....I had a good time.....life was just the most
My advice...... never hate my friend, or follow cars too close
You can cry at disasters and earthquakes
You can cry whenever your car breaks
You can cry at spiders and some snakes
But don’ cry for me when I’m gone
You can cry when your allergies persist
You can cry when following your bliss
You can cry when Obama leaves office
But don’t cry for me when I’m gone!
