There have been several versions of "Forever Marie" over the years, most of which feature the amazing Tim Ellis on electric guitar. The first day Tim came over to record at my house, Forever Marie was one of the songs he played on. Much to my chin hitting the floor amazement. But Forever Marie is a very personal song and came along about the time that Marie and I had fallen madly in love and had realized that we had found in each other the perfect mate to share the rest of our lives with. So I wrote her this song. One morning I got up early, as I always do, worked up the song, and when she was ready to get up I went into our bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed and sang it to her. This original guitar version is pretty much way I played and sang it to her on that summer morning.
Here's the electric version:

That first day that Tim showed up over here to play on "Forever Marie", and "Like Him That Way", I gave him the sheet music, he listened to the song one time, then played the electric parts you hear on this electrified version. That's when my chin hit the floor. When you tell Tim Ellis what a mind blowing talent he is, he will say "oh hell I just play all the time, you'd be good too if you played as much as me". No, Tim. YOU. ARE. AMAZING!
