After "We Talk About Cars" appeared on the CarTalk CD, it began to receive radio play on stations 'round the world. I kneel at the feet of CarTalk. So here is my own compilation CD, which includes the original "We Talk About Cars", and an updated 2015 version! Also included are 2 previously unreleased tracks!

Heartfelt, full of love, sometimes funny songs from rocker and vet songwriter Ric Seaberg!

Born in Chicago. Where the weak are killed and eaten. Wound up in Portland, Oregon when my folks grew weary of summers and winters in The Windy City. Raised in Portland. Willamette University. 5 years as lead singer of The Morning Reign. Married at 19. Two children by age 23. Opened a bakery at age 27, Richard's Bakery in Tualatin,Oregon. Opened second bakery at 37, Favourites Bakery in Portland. Bought the building my bakery was in in 1995. Retired, remarried (and became a step-dad!), cranked out 10 full length CDs from 2000-2015. "We Talk About Cars", originally recorded in 2001, found it's way onto a CD produced by NPR's "CarTalk", and has been featured on radio all over the world. An updated version of "We Talk About Cars" finds new life on "A Certain Level of Luckiness". Worked as a handyman for about 10 years. Have been writing songs and recording in some way for most of my life. Thanks for purchasing my tunes!

After his song "If Oprah Was President" was used behind a CNN story about Oprah in 2007, Ric Seaberg went to work writing songs to complete his new CD, "A Thousand Songs", which includes, among other typically interesting and sometimes humorous Seaberg offerings, "The Lone Ranger Song", featuring Ric singing one of his first efforts at the age of 3. "A Thousand Songs" is undoubtedly Seaberg's finest batch of songs, and includes the surefire hit "Hear Me!", destined to be Ric's most played song since his masterpiece "We Talk About Cars". Hundreds of podcasters have enjoyed playing Ric's songs on their podcasts, and we predict these new songs will be favourites on the podcast circuit, as well as being added to shuffle rotations all over the world, generating proceeds which will of course inch their way into the Seaberg coffers......... as Ric himself suggests in the song, "A Thousand Songs",

There’s water bills and l’ectric bills, and gas is gonna climb There’s a Starbucks on the corner, where I spend a lot of time There’s a website and guitar strings, there’s CD blanks and picks But all these things could be resolved with a modicum of clicks

Oh life would be so simple, life would be so fine Life would be much better, with a better bottom line! I’d send my kids to college, and I’d reek with confidence, If I could sell a thousand songs on iTunes every month! I’d dine on brie and oysters, and I’d take my wife t’lunch If I could sell a thousand songs on iTunes every month

Two of Ric's tunes, "We Talk About Cars", and "Didn't Say I Love You Right" appear on NPR's "Car Talk" compilation CDS. " The Noise Pollution's Gone" is the official theme song of "NoiseFreeAmerica"

Intelligent quirky humor

A well known Portland daily newspaper columnist once described Ric Seaberg this way: "In a kinder and gentler world, he would have been a rock star."

Ric was front man and lead vocalist for a band that was part of the unique Northwest Rock scene in late 60s & early 70s (that laid the foundation for what became grunge).

The Morning Reign played in most large cities and small towns across the Northwest and opened for acts ranging from The Doors to The Guess Who, Buddy Miles to Peter and Gordon, Box Tops to Cream, the Animals to Spencer Davis Group. Morning Reign recorded at Capitol Records in Los Angeles.

Ric's music is versatile ranging from blues to country ballads, biting humor to love songs, reggae to flat out rock 'n roll. There are few who can match his wordsmithing talents (for example, he once rhymed maharaj with garage in a song), his lyrics are distinctive and memorable.

Ric's songs "Didn't Say I Love You Right" and "We Talk About Cars" both appear on NPR's "Car Talk" compilation cds, available at www.cartalk.com.

"The Noise Pollution's Gone", from Ric's CD "Santa Monica", is the official song of Noise Free America. Learn more at www.noisefree.org

Ric lives in Portland with his wife and step-son. All his recordings feature the guitar genius of Portland axe-god Tim Ellis.

Still writing and recording after all these years, singer-songwriter Ric Seaberg serves up 2 great new CDs for 2005. This 17 song set includes Seaberg's usual sprinkling of love songs, novelty songs, and songs that defy genre classification. Beginning with the hauntingly beautiful "Who Come Down?, and cruising through song after catchy song, this CD could very well be Seaberg's masterpiece. The listener will be pleasantly surprised with the rockin' and catchy "If I Could Be A Geek". "Motown Man" is yet another tribute to Ric's son. Ric's new R&B version of Donovan's "Catch The Wind" is radio ready. "Watching The Season Go By" is a touching, gorgeous ballad on the subject of older people finding love. This is not a Cd brimming with fillers. Every song is interesting and fun to listen to. Seaberg's signature humor comes through once again on songs like "Never Met An Opinion (He Didn't Have)", in "Frajeely", and in "The Fa" which screams for a video featuring "The Fab Five" from "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy".

Once again, Ric calls on Tim Ellis to supply engaging and elegant guitar.

Singin' 'n' Songwritin' in the tradition of Randy Newman, Warren Zevon, and Loudon Wainwright III

"Dubs", (copies) of master recordings have tended to pile up, over the years, in prolific Ric Seaberg's "to be released" song portfolio. Love songs, songs of humour, songs from the brilliant and oft times quirky mind of a guy who wrote his first song in the third grade.

Having spent most of his adult life, after a stint as an almost famous rock star in the Northwest's popular 60s-70s band "The Morning Reign", owning and operating a retail bakery, Ric returned to songwriting and recording with a vengeance in 2001, and has since released five full-length CDs. And not all of the great songs, piling up in that portfolo, have made it onto one of Ric's previous sixteen song CD releases.

"Dubs On Trial" showcases sixteen great Seaberg tunes, previously passed by as CDs were assembled. "I keep a portfolio I have actually titled "Dubs On Trial", Seaberg says. We thought, let's just call the CD that, and then, maybe I'll get to wear one of those judge wigs!"
