From the recording There Goes Rhymin' Pie Man
The songs on "Rhymin' Pie Man" were written in my 30s and 40s. There were a few years during that time when getting a grip on relationships was difficult. Ya do your best. You grow up slowly. This song enjoys the distinction of being soundly panned by an ASCAP executive one evening at a meeting of the Portland Songwriter's Association. Cute chorus IMHO!
Give Me What You Want to Give 1991
Give me a wink
Or give me a smile
Give me an inch
Or give me a mile
Tell me the truth
Or tell me a lie
You do it your way
And I’ll do it mine but jus’
Give me what you
Want to give
That’s what I want
That’s where I live
Give me what you
Want to give
And I am a happy man
Gimme a month
Or gimme a week
Gimme a night
To nuzzle your check
I will be there
If you have your cry
Whatever you do
I’ll be by your side but jus’
Give me what you
Want to give
That’s what I want
That’s where I live
Give me what you
Want to give
And I am a happy man
We got a love
So warm and true
I’m not gonna
Imprison you
So jus’
Give me what you
Want to give
That’s what I want
That’s where I live
Give me what you
Want to give
And I am a happy man
Repeat, ad libs out
